Dr. Nayana Rao
Medical Director
Dr. Nayana Rao is an Ayurveda graduate from Bangalore University, India and she also holds Masters Degree in Yoga (MSc.Yoga) and an MBA in Hospital Management. She had an opportunity to undergo an advanced Yoga training at BKS Iyengar Institute of Yoga, Pune. She has been practicing and teaching Ayurveda and Yoga from 15 years and has focused on the integration of Ayurveda and Yoga since then. Dr. Nayana Rao has introduced and popularized the concept of Ayurveda and Yoga in foreign countries like South Africa, New Zealand and Switzerland in the last decade through Ayurveda Sanctuary. She has been regularly conducting Ayurveda and Yoga retreats in Switzerland, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Italy in Europe and in the Himalayas in India every year.

Dr. Sreedhar Rao, MD(Ayu), hails from a traditional Ayurveda family of South India. He is an internationally acclaimed physician and teacher. Over the years he has conducted seminars and workshops for the practitioners and the students in South Africa, Malaysia, South Korea, New Zealand etc. He has served as a Technical Consultant (W.H.O) for International Cooperation in the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health, Government of India. He is a senior faculty member in Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, an hardcore researcher + clinician + teacher + promoter of Ayurveda. He not only presents the new face of modern Ayurveda; but is also responsible for new phase in Ayurveda. He has the credit of establishing the first International AYUSH Resource Cell in Malaysia on the behest of the Dept. of AYUSH, Govt.of India. He is a qualified NABH Assessor for AYUSH Hospitals and Healthcare Organisations under the Quality Council of India, New Delhi.

Abhyangam (Ayurvedic Massage) (60 minutes)
Abhyanga is the procedure where the whole body is massaged using specific medicated oil to nourish, revitalize the body tissues, impart oleation, complexion, stability, destroys fatigue and disturbances due to vata dosha.
Swedana (30 minutes)
By using special herbs specific to the doshas and ailments of a person, an herbal steam bath is administered which opens the pores and flushes and cleanses the system through the skin. Its effect is enhanced when taken after Abhyanga.
Kaya Seka (Pizhichil - Sarvangadhara) (90 minutes)
Kaya Seka is the process in which the body is made to perspire by means of pouring of warm medicated oil in a specific manner. Four therapists, two on each side of the basin carry out the process.
Dhara (Shirodhara) (45 minutes)
Sirodhara is the process in which medicated oil, milk, buttermilk is poured in a continuous stream on the forehead in a specific manner. Two therapists perform this treatment.
Sirovasthi (60 minutes)
Shirovasthi is the procedure where in the medicated oil is retained on the head for a prescribed period. Two therapists perform this procedure.
Njavarakizhi (90 minutes)
It is a procedure by which the whole body or any specific part thereof is made to perspire, by the application of certain medicinal drugs with Njavara(special variety of rice that grows in 60 days.) rice puddings externally in the form of boluses tied up in a muslin bag. Four therapists administer this procedure.
Elakizhi (Patrapotala Sweda) (60 minutes)
This is a type of Swedana Chikitsa (fomentation) wherein herbal leaf poultice are used to give fomentation and simultaneous massage on whole body or any specific part.
Podikizhi (Choorna Sweda) (60 minutes)
This is a type of Swedana Chikitsa (fomentation) wherein medicated powders are made into poultice and used for giving fomentation.
Udwarthanam (Dry Massage) (60 minutes)
Udwarthanam is the treatment where in the massage is done with powders of medicines. The powder is rubbed forcibly on the body in upward direction.
Thalapothichil (30 minutes)
This is a special procedure of application of medicated paste on the head.
Kativasthi
In this procedure specially prepared warm medicated oil is placed on the back region(Lumbar) for a specific time
Urovasthi
In this procedure, specially prepared warm medicated oil is placed on the chest for a specific time.
Shiroabhyanga (30 minutes)
A soothing massage of the head, neck & shoulder for 30 minutes using warm herbal oils.
Tarpana (30 minutes)
A therapeutic application and retention of medicated ghee on the eyes. Tarpana is widely used for various conditions of the eyes.
Shiropichu (45 minutes)
Medicated oil is applied to the head in a special manner.
Chakra Basti (45 minutes)
This Basti is applied to the umbilical region. It acts on the solar plexus and balances the digestive fire.
Padaghata (60 minutes)
This is a very unique whole body massage using feet instead of hands. It is performed by two therapists for one hour.
Shiroabhyanga (30 minutes)
A soothing massage of the head, neck & shoulder for 30 minutes using warm herbal oils.
Padaabhyanga (30 minutes)
A very stimulating massage of the lower legs and the feet for 30 minutes to activate the acupressure points.
Hrid Basti (30 minutes)
This procedure is applied over the heart for 25 minutes using warm medicated oils or herbal decoctions.
Janu Basti (30 minutes)
In this treatment the knee is bathed in warm medicated oils or herbal decoctions, taking 20 to 30 minutes. It promotes the strength of the knee joint by improving the circulation.
Greeva Basti (30 minutes)
Bathing the back of the neck using warm medicated oil or herbal decoction for 20 to 30 minutes.
