Greeva Vasti


Greeva Vasti is a Panchakarma treatment that uses Sweda (sweating) as its mechanism of action. Sweda is a treatment that involves applying heated medicinal oil to the back of the neck, which is then applied to the source of discomfort. This aids in the relief of the impacted areas.

After this operation, the patient receives a light Abhyanga (massage).

Greeva Vasti is performed in the morning if the Kapha dosha is prominent (neck stiffness), in midday if the pitta dosha is dominant (burning sensations or inflammation), and in the evening if the Vata dosha is dominant (pain). Greeva Vasti is usually conducted early in the morning because of these circumstances.
